Housing Market 2024 Prices. Home sales will speed up throughout 2024 as affordability improves and more homes hit the market. But slightly lower mortgage rates and prices will help lower the costs of homeownership.

Fannie mae outlined its housing market forecasts through 2025, including home sales and price growth. Experts say that the combination of high mortgage rates, inflated home values and scarce inventory suggest that 2024 could remain a challenging year for the housing market.
